Jesse John Evans, born July 26, 1936, in Bolivar, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, surrounded by the family he cherished so deeply.

Jesse was the son of Mark and Katie Evans and grew up with his brothers, Robert and Clifford, and his little sister, Thadda May. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sister. He carried fond memories of them throughout his life. He is now reunited with them in eternal rest.

In 1967, Jesse was saved and became a devoted man of God. His faith guided him daily and could be felt in his kindness, humility, and the gentle way he treated everyone around him.

For 68 wonderful years, Jesse shared his life with his beloved wife, Glenda. Together, they built a home overflowing with love and purpose. Their children, Karen McGee of Bolivar, Donna Engelbrecht (Albert) of Steelville, and David Evans of Nixa, were the heart of Jesse's world, and he took great pride in watching them grow. His joy multiplied with each generation, as he became a grandfather to Albert Engelbrecht (Roseann), Sean Engelbrecht (Kirsten), Trevor Evans (Jessica), and Jessica Austin (Alex), and a great-grandfather to 11 beloved great-grandchildren.

A man of the land, Jesse found deep fulfillment in farming. He especially loved his Hereford cows and could often be found tending to them with steady hands and a full heart. His old blue truck and his tractors were more than tools-they were trusted companions through years of hard work and dedication.

Those who knew Jesse remember him as a pillar of faith, love, and neighborliness. His legacy is one of devotion-to God, to his family, and to the simple, honest work he loved. He will be missed beyond measure and remembered always by the many people whose lives he touched.
