Ruby Jean Mason

1943 - 2022

Ruby "Jean" Long Mason passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022, in her home surrounded by family, at the age of 79. Jean was born on August 3, 1943 to Thomas Neville and Blanche Ophealia Aldridge Long. She was a lifelong resident of the Ash Grove and Eudora areas. She married Larry Mason on July 4, 1962, celebrating 60 years together.

Jean attended and graduated from Ash Grove Schools. She worked in the food industry and owned her own restaurant in Willard for a time. She also worked at Willard Chiropractic for several years as a certified chiropractic assistant. In her spare time, she enjoyed decorating her home, taking care of her yard and plants, going to garage sales and visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Larry Mason of Aldrich; two sons Kevin (Lisa) Mason of Walnut Grove, and Kent (Tracy) Mason of Humansville; five grandchildren, Bobbi Mason, Eric (Kendal) Mason, Cia (Robert) Johnson, Kylin (Lyndsea) Mason, and Ethan Mason; three great-grandchildren Brinley, Hattie, and Ace; two brothers, Eddie (Sue) Long of Ash Grove, and Joe Bob (Penny) Long of Independence; two sisters-in-law Willie Long of Independence, and Geri Long of Ash Grove, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Neville and Blanche Ophealia Aldridge Long; eight brothers, Thomas Long, Clyde Long, Gene Long, Elgie Long, Harold Long, Randy Long, Kenneth Long, and Charles Long; three sisters, Esther Long, Charlene Dunn, and Ann Breedlove.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Aldrich. Cremation was under the direction of Birch Funeral Home.
