William Goetze Obituary

William D. "Bill Goetze died Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at the age of 83. Born to RW and Bessie Goetze, he grew up in Johnson County Kansas, attending Roesland elementary school, Pembroke Country Day, and the University of Kansas.

He worked in radio advertising through the 1980s and was still recently involved with media. A resident of the Ozarks since 1999, he became a health insurance sales person when he found he could help others navigate the vagaries of Medicare.

If you were to look for Bill, you would find him at a Kansas City radio, on the golf course at Quivira, Wolf Creek or Silo Ridge, at a duplicate bridge table, on a sale boat, or years ago, with Toastmasters or the Magic Ring in Kansas City, or perhaps the New Stanley, back in the day.

Bill leaves his daughter, Andrea Goetze Willkes and husband Ren, three grandchildren, Lauren, Rose, Ava, and Roy of New Orleans, Louisiana, all who could beat him at the card game peanut, but never at bridge. Andrea recalls fondly the times she and her dad spend sailing on Stockton Lake listening to troubadour Jerry Jeff Walker. Also surviving are nephews Robert Walker and Stephen Kane and their children in the Kansas City metro area.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please send to Pembroke Hill School, 400 W. 51st St., Kansas City, MO 64112 or online at www.Pembrokehill.org
