David Smith Obituary
David Paul Smith, 80, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
A viewing will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeview Funeral Home, with a burial to follow.
David was born November 26, 1945 to Jessie and Lillian Smith in Van Nuys, California. He graduated from Polly Tech High School and then attended college at UCLA. He then married Laura on February 15, 1969 in Pacoima, California. Together, they moved to San Francisco to begin a life together.
He worked as an encyclopedia sales man, later owning the company. From there, he went in to real estate in California and Idaho.
His loved to woodwork, do carpentry, camping, fishing, shooting his guns, hiking, backpacking, and riding his motorcycle.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
His is survived by his wife, Laura Smith and his puppy, Gracie Girl of Sandpoint, ID; four siblings: Joyce DeGennaro of Costa Mesa, CA; Janice Kehl of Santa Ana, CA; Dennis Smith of Sun Valley, CA; and Janine Lewis of Rockland, CA; four sisters-in-law: Marisa (Steve) Robbins of Laguna Beach, CA; Anna (Roland) Monaco of Simi Valley, CA; Joanna (Paul) Gilmartin of Riverview, FL; and Dorathy Murphy of Porter Ranch, CA.

Our sincere condolences on Dave´s passing. So thankful you guys came to visit last year, we will forever treasure those memories....the bocce ball games, the food, the drinks, and just listening to his stories, he was a wealth of knowledge!
