Geri was born on December 22, 1934, in Plains, MT, to Clinton and Ada (Hagadone) Phillips. She grew up and attended schools in Sandpoint, graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1952. She completed Sacred Heart Nursing School in 1955 and then earned her public health certification in 1960 at the University of Oregon Health Sciences in Portland.

Geri married William Alex Stockman on December 17, 1960, in Mountain Home, ID. They made their home in Sandpoint, where Geri worked as the Bonner County Public Health Nurse. She then spent many years at Bonner General Hospital as an operating room nurse, eventually rising to the position of nurse manager for the surgery department. She was named employee of the year in 1990 and retired in 1995.

In high school, she was a member of the Junior Red Cross, serving as president her senior year. She was also an officer of the Saddle Club. She joined the local volkssport club, the Panhandle Pacers, in the 1970s, before going on to found, with her husband, another local club, the Selkirk Striders. She was also a member of the Lilac City Volkssport Association. Avid walkers, Geri and Bill travelled all over the United States and beyond, attending various volkssport events. Geri was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon and as a member of Presbyterian Women. She loved to sing and was a member of the chancel choir at church for fifty years, as well as various community choruses and the Sweet Adelines over the years. The family genealogist, Geri was in contact with distant relatives all over the world and traced back family lines to colonial times and beyond. Her other hobbies included crocheting, reading, and working on crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her two daughters Lynne Marie Stockman and husband David Harper of England, and Dana Stockman of Sandpoint; brother Bud (Bonnie) Phillips of Clarkston, WA; and half-sister Enid Ruttan of Spokane, WA. Geri is also survived by two nephews Mike (Jenn) Phillips of Medical Lake, WA, and David (Janelle) Phillips of West Richland, WA, and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
