Peter Andreas Polt, 68

Peter "Pete" Andreas Polt of Naples, Idaho, passed away February 24, 2025, at the age of 68 years old. Peter was an amazing husband, dad, brother and Opa and will be so greatly missed. Peter leaves behind his beautiful wife, Christine Ella, and his son, Nathan Polt and his daughter, Monika Brown, both of California. He will also be missed by his sister, Lin Mueller, his brother-in-law, Steve Mueller, his daughter-in-law, Julianna Polt, his son-in-law, Jason Brown, and his adored grandchildren, Amelia, Andrea, and Adalyn Polt, all of California. He was so proud of his family-especially his accomplished children and wonderful grandchildren.



Peter lived an active and adventurous life. He was born in Vancouver, British Columbia and grew up in Penticton, B.C. before attending the University of British Columbia where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. He immigrated to the US in 1983, which became his new home although he always loved B.C. and visited often. Peter lived in Kansas and Oklahoma, where he earned a master's degree in computer science and then relocated to California to raise his family. After retirement, Peter moved to Naples, Idaho to enjoy the peace and beauty of the area.



Peter was an active skier and outdoorsman. He began skiing at the age of 3 and was a masterful skier. He loved to sail and had many certifications in sailing earning his Captain's license and racing from the San Francisco Bay to Hawaii. Peter loved to hike, camp, fish, and was always learning new skills. He had an abundance of hobbies and interests including woodworking, welding, rock climbing, dirt, and mountain biking. Everything he did, he attacked with a desire to do his very best. Peter had a strong artistic side that was found in his paintings, pottery, and in his wooden bowls, cutting boards and vases. Peter was curious, inventive, always learning and wanted to make things better for others.



Peter believed in giving back to his community and those around him. In Idaho, he joined the Boundary Search and Dive Rescue Team and was so proud of his colleagues and the work they did. He always had time to help others, whether it was plowing the road, helping someone build or fix something, or with just a kind and friendly smile and conversation.



In lieu of flowers, Peter's family requests that in his honor, go outdoors and spend time on the ski slopes, hiking, sailing, or doing something you enjoy. A celebration of his life will take place in Naples, Idaho in June.
