Harold Kempf Obituary

Harold H. Kempf, 91, of Boonville passed away Monday evening October 22, 2018 at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia.
Visitation for Harold will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 26 at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with a prayer service starting at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday October 27 at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Peckman officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Johns Catholic Cemetery in Clear Creek with full military honors.
Harold Herman Kempf was born March 30, 1927 in Clear Creek, Mo., the son of Otto Joseph Kempf and Mary Magdalena Twenter Kempf. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands. He married the love of his life, Mary Ann Schuster, October 4, 1948 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove. She preceded him in death on February 18, 2008. Harold was a construction worker and a farmer. Harold was an active member of S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 1061. He loved to play cards and volunteer his time to Ashley Manor Care Center, where he was volunteer of the year. You could say Harold's favorite thing to do was reminisce about his family and all the hard work he had accomplished in his construction career especially the bridge work. Most of all Harold was a family man that loved every family member to the fullest and couldn't wait to see their smiling faces.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Mary; son, David Kempf; daughter, Mary Monnig; brothers, Clem Kempf and Joe Lee Kempf; sister, Coletta Pabst; and two infant brothers and an infant grandson. He is survived by his daughters, Linda (Eddie) Wassmann of Boonville, Mo., Carol (John) Stupica of Lee's Summit, Mo., Elaine (Michael) Campbell of Phoenix, Ariz.,; sons, Darryl (Nancy) Kempf of Boonville, Mo., Jerry (Denise) Kempf of Columbia, Mo., Chris (Roylene) Kempf of Boonville, Mo., Charles Kempf of Texas, John (Cheryl) Kempf of Boonville, Mo. and Greg (Lana) Kempf of Boonville, Mo. Also surviving are his brothers Estil Kempf and Jerry Ray Kempf and sisters, Lavina Hodges and Irene Oser. He will be dearly missed by his 33 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren and he was looking forward to three on the way.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the S.S. Peter and Paul School Foundation or the Clear Creek Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at: www.howardfh.com

We were so sorry to hear of your loss. We would have come to the service but were out of town. Your dad always had such a cute smile and seemed so nice. He will be missed. Remember all the good times you shared.
