LOUISE BOLIN
Louise Bolin, 94, went home to be with the Lord on June 27, 2024, which was the day she married Dorsey Bolin in 1947.They were married for 71 years.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Howard Funeral Home,1397 W. Ashley Rd.
Boonville, MO. The visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m. The burial will be at the High Point Cemetery, High Point, MO.
Born November 19, 1929, to Clarence and Gladys (Collins) James in High Point, MO, and named Mary Louise. She preferred to be called Louise. She attended elementary school in High Point, one year of high school in Eldon, and the remaining high school years in California, graduating in 1948. She was one of 6 siblings. Leota Lucille (McBroom, Brown), Clarence Carl, Thelma Dean, (Golden), Clara Mae, (McDaniel), and Mabel Pearl. All have preceded her in death.
Louise was a working woman all of her adult life. She spent 13 years as a seamstress at California, MO Manufacturing on the assembly line, a few years of motel work and eventually landing at Foster's Drug Store in Boonville at the lunch counter where her love of cooking was evident. She was there for 23 years through the transition to Pryor's Drug store until it closed. She took a few more short-term positions until she decided to open her own business Louise's Tea Room. She set up shop in Your Money's Worth Antique Mall and created sandwiches and pies. Many people stopped in for a slice of chocolate or coconut cream or whatever else struck her fancy to make. She continued with the Tea Room until she was 88 years old.
She met Dorsey at church youth group which set the spiritual foundation for their marriage. Louise taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and led many years of mission groups at church. Dorsey and Louise were parents of two children, Barbara (Bolin) Fisher (Ronald), and Christopher Bolin. As parents, they set the example of hard work, service to God, and care and concern for our fellow human beings.
Louise had a variety of interests including family genealogy, local history, Boonville Community Theater, and Neighbors Helping Neighbors Food Bank. At around the age of 90, she sewed dozens of cloth bags and simple dresses over multiple years for Operation Christmas Child. Louise had a long life of actively serving others.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Fisher, Bemidji, MN, Christopher Bolin,
Boonville, MO, 3 grandchildren, and their spouses, 9 great-grandchildren, a brother-in-law, Jimmy Williams, South Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews. o
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey, parents, son-in-law, Ronald, and siblings.
Our family would like to thank the staff of Riverdell Care Center for caring for Mom over the last 10 months and Three Rivers Hospice for their brief, but compassionate care.
