Jamestown - Shirley Dusenberg, 79, of Jamestown, MO, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021, at The Neighborhoods by Tiger Place in Columbia, MO. She was born September 14, 1942, near Prairie Home, MO, to Herman and Leonora (Klatt) Wallenmeyer, who preceded her in death.
Shirley graduated from Prairie Home High School in 1960. On June 13, 1964, she was married in New Franklin, MO to Larry Dusenberg, who preceded her in death on May 18, 2017. Shirley was a loving mother and grandmother. For years, she worked as a bank teller in Jamestown and California, MO at Peoples Bank, Union Planters Bank, Central Bank and Commerce Bank. Shirley volunteered as an aide at Jamestown School and also served on the school board. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Jamestown, serving on the church council, singing in the choir, and assisting with Vacation Bible School. She was a caregiver most of her life, from children to family and friends.
Shirley is survived by three sons and one daughter, Michael Dusenberg (Teresa), Stacey Hirst (Scott), Chris Dusenberg (Sara), and Patrick Dusenberg; two grandsons, Christian and Daniel Dusenberg; four granddaughters, Emily Webster (Jeremy), Kaitlyn Hirst, Brennah Hirst, and Audrey Dusenberg; one great-grandson, Sawyer Webster; her sister, Mary Jane Snyder (Kenny); sister-in-law, Mary Maloney (Jeff); three nephews and two nieces. She was also preceded in death by one infant niece, Jennifer Maloney.
The family requests that those attending wear a face mask. The family will receive friends at Grace United Methodist Church in Jamestown on Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 10 am-12 pm. Services will follow at noon, with Rev. Don Almond officiating. Interment will be at Grace United Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Grace United Methodist Church Building Fund or Grace United Methodist Cemetery.
