Steven James Concannon, 65, of Boonville, passed away, unexpectedly at his home on Nov. 11, 2016.
Private services for Steve will be held in Buckeye, Ariz. at a later date.
Steve Concannon was born January 17, 1951, in Grandview, Mo., the son of Milburn Kenneth Concannon and Dorothy Elva Jones Concannon. He grew up in Grandviewand graduated from Grandview High School. He began college at the University of Missouri at Columbia and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in City Planning from the University of California, San Bernardino. He lived several places before settling in California. He spent several years in varied positions with cities of Claremont, in Southern California and Fremont, in Northern California.
In his early years, Steve earned many medals in target shooting and was a gifted photographer until a baseball accident robbed him sight in one eye. He was an avid camper and sometimes heard the full throated siren call of the wilderness and be gone for a while. He was an eage,r but unfortunate gold prospector. In addition he was passionate about cars, and for many years would have one car to drive and one to 'tinker' with. Sometimes his ""tinkering"" went far beyond what is normally thought of as tinkering and a car which was equal to or better than the original would slowly emerge; the gleaming product of his efforts.
In 2005 he decided to return to his roots and eventually settled in Boonville, MO where he held jobs in various occupations. He enjoyed gardening and antiquing and could often be found attending auctions in the area. He was eager to help when needed and volunteered at Boonville Chamber of Commerce and Senior Center events.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathy. He is survived by one brother, Milburn Kenneth Concannon, Jr. (Mike) and his wife, Brenda of Buckeye, Ariz., one niece, Shauna Concannon of Los Alamitos, Calif. and one nephew, David Duncan and his wife, Robin, of Smithville, Mo.
