Vivian Weston Obituary

VIVIAN MAY WESTON Vivian May "Be" Weston, age 93, of New Franklin, passed away on October 27, 2025, at Hartmann Village in Boonville. Be was born on August 10, 1932, a daughter of Roswell Landon and Rosa Lee Racy Landon. Be attended a small country school, Cotton Patch, southwest of Blackwater, through the 8th grade. She then graduated from Pilot Grove High School in 1950 and attended one year at Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg. On November 30, 1952, she married Ernest Weston. They raised their family on a farm near New Franklin and also ran Weston Drilling and Pump Company. Six children were born to this union: Marilyn Lee Porter (Glenn), Paul Roland (Brenda), Mark Landon (Cheryl), David Anthony (Kim), James Mitchell (Jenny), and Vivian Alice Zey (Keith). She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ernest, as well as one son, David. Be was also preceded in death by three brothers: Dainie Landon (Lucetta), R.D. Landon (Katie), twin brother Vernon Landon (Shirley), and three sisters, Nadine Vivian (Ray), Mildred Cornine (Archie), and Dorothy Barron (Jim). Be was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Franklin, where she and Ernest took their children. She taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years. She was also a PTA officer, teacher's aide, school board member, and served on the Daniel Boone Regional Library Board. She kept records for Weston Drilling and Pump Company, and served on the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Board, Peninsula Cemetery Board, and the South Howard County Historical Society. One of her proudest achievements was being a blood donor and earning the twenty-gallon pin. She and Ernest loved to travel and spent many winters in South Texas or the Yuma, Arizona area. She had many fond memories of traveling and camping with her siblings as well. In addition to her surviving children, Be is survived by thirteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Services honoring Be's life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in New Franklin, with visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Association. I have many fond memories of Be. She was an influencer in my life. She was very involved in the church, school and community. As I grew up and had children, they became friends with her grandchildren. She was Grandma Be to her grandchildren as well as mine. I have no doubt that she is in God's care now.

Such a Sweet Lady, Ms. Be was! I was only around her a few times but I cherish those times. My prayers go out to all her family but remember she suffers NO more, she is with her other family members who were waiting for her at those Heavenly Gates along with our precious Lord, who was first to wrap his arms around her and welcome her into Heaven.
