Carroll Wiseman

1935 - 2017

Carroll Thomas Wiseman, 81, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 in San Antonio.

Rosary will be cited 6 p.m. Thursday, at Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors with 10 a.m. Funeral Mass Friday at the St. John's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Carroll was born in Sudan, September 22, 1935 to Otis and Opal Wiseman. He graduated from Sudan High School and Frank Phillips College. Carroll married Janis French of Borger in 1959.

He worked for the Texas Department of Public Safety as driver's license examiner, Copoly Plant, Hutchinson County Sheriff Department as deputy sheriff for 10 years and Hutchinson County Juvenile Probation for 27 years retiring Dec. 31, 1997. He served in United States Army stationed in Panama.

Carroll is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Denzel and Dick, sister Otta Jean Reynolds and a niece Jennifer Mackey.

He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, St. John's Men's Club and Knights of Columbus. He was an avid golfer and loved playing the harmonica. He did prison ministry for seven years playing in God's Country Band. He also played in the Wild Rose Band in South Fork, Colorado at Fun Valley and the Fort Clark Express in Brackettville Texas.

Survivors include his wife Janis of 57 years; son Michael Wiseman; daughter Misty Savage and husband Terry; grandson Anthony Lermon; granddaughter Ashley Rodriguez and husband Jesse; great granddaughters Seighlyn, Phoenyx, and Bryley; great grandsons Cano and Tanner; sister in law Ellen Lentz of Florida, and brother in law Francis Ondracek of Dalhart; special friend Gail DeWeese, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all.
