Dear Family & Friends,
Capt. Al was just a wonderful guy who had a sincere dedication to the cadets. He loved his Alma Mater, his shipmates and his many jobs at the Academy. He helped so many cadets overcome so many obstacles in finding meaningful internships at sea and advance many of their careers.
Some 20 years ago, he saw the need for communication between the parents and the college and thus began the Academy's parents association. There is so much to be grateful for his many years of service and contributions in strengthening the Academy's community. Much of today's Academy's successes are due in part because of Capt. Al.
Please know how much he will be missed but know that he will be forever cherished.
My blessings to Capt. Al's Family

The MMA family will long remember Captain Wilson. Few have shown more love and commitment to the Academy and many have benefitted from his mentorship and guidance. As a member of the Class of 79, I was honored to serve as a Company Commander during Captain Wilson's tenure as Commandant of Cadets. Captain Wilson also served in one of my Dad's units while in the Naval Reserve in Worcester. My fondest sympathies are with all of his family. His memories are certain to live forever in our hearts.

Capt Wilson was a great mentor to me and others. I valued his friendship as a cadet back in the last 70's to the present. He was always helpful, positive and creative.

Dear Mrs. Wilson and Family,
Please accept my deepest condolonces on your loss. I had the opportunity to get to know Capt. Wilson reasonably well during my time at MMA. He was compassionate and cared deeply about the Academy and the cadets. My dad visited MMA for many years to recruit cadets to work at Electric Boat in Groton. Capt. Wilson coordinated advancement at the time so they worked together to identify good candidates for EB. I know my dad thought highly of him too. In recent years I had the opportunity to see Al when I returned to the school for MMA Foundation board meetings. I always marveled at how well he had aged and how he still had such an easy going, affable demeanor. Al Wilson was a terrific person and he will be remembered by the literally thousands of cadets whose lives he touched during his many years at the Academy.
Sincerely,
Rick Lyall '79
