ALBERTA AUSTIN Obituary

Austin, Alberta Frances
Of Sudbury, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on October 7, 2013. Beloved wife of, and survived by, John F. Austin Sr. and loving mother to sons John F. Austin Jr. and his wife Laureen A. Austin, Christopher J. Austin and his wife Diane Austin, Timothy A. Austin and his wife Karen Austin; daughters Ellen D. Bacon and Diana E. Patterson and her husband Andrew Patterson; and her beloved grandchildren; David Austin, Brittany Austin, James Austin, Madelyn Bacon and Lyla Austin. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and family friends. Alberta was a nurse during the late 1950s and early 1960s before "retiring" in order to focus on raising her family of 5 children. She did return to school in the 1980s, attending Framingham State College where she studied psychology. But her first and primary focus was always her family, and the many friends of her family. Alberta was known for her caring and compassion, always willing to help out someone in need. She also had a deep love of books and intelligent conversation, and travel. She was finally, a deeply private person and in keeping with her wishes, there will be no public service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mass Audubon Society, Development Office, 208 South Great Road, Lincoln, MA 01773, or to The Home for Little Wanderers, Development Dept., 271 Huntington Avenue, 2nd floor, Boston, MA 02115.

The wind stills, the birds stop singing and the air chills, not just for one or a few but for all who are connected. In such moments we feel the deep loss of a friend's loved one. I extend my deepest sympathy to John F. Austin Jr, his entire family, and their friends.
