Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Jimenez Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

To the family and parents of Alex I want you to know that you are not alone in the grief you are feeling. I too know what you are going through and what you will go through in the coming weeks and months ahead. You will have many questions as to why? You will have many things to get ready or go through and that should be done in time. Sometimes it just can’t be faced and that’s ok, for you will know when the time is right for you. There is no right or wrong way to grieve it’s an individual journey that unfortunately we now have to take. I ask that God give the comfort, strength and courage that you are going to need. When and if the time is right for you please contact me. You can cry, vent, or just talk as only another person who has been where you are can really know what you are going through. May God continue to be with you and heal you.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Life is full of choices, this will always be.
The choice that you have made for me, will always inspire me.
How brave you are, oh I can see, that all you have done you have done for me.
America can you not see, how brave they are, they are for thee?
Can we not stop our busy day and count the cost that you must pay to keep us free.
Oh how they pay with their constant sacrifices they make each day.
How much they mean, how much we owe.
For ones so brave, for us so free, they gave their lives for you, for me
May you find comfort to know that others do care and share in your great loss.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Sgt. Alex R. Jimenez our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Alex. And to Alex it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made in combat while serving the U.S. Army and his country. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Alex, you are a brave Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,385 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Alex’s family and loved ones.

My heart bleeds for you, My prayers have been and continue for Alex and your family.
"To the Living I am gone,
To the Sorrowful I will never return,
To the Angry I was Cheated.
To the Happy, I am at Peace.
And, to the Faithful, I have Never Left.
I cannot Speak, but I can Listen.
I cannot be Seen, but I can be Heard.
So, as you stand upon a shore,
gazing at a beautiful sea,
REMEMBER ME.
Remember Me in your Heart, in your Thoughts,
and the Memories of the times we Loved,
the Memories of the time we Shared.
For if you Always Think of Me,
I will Never have Gone."

My husband and I extend our deepest sympathy to the Duran family. Maria, we know what you are going through as a mother as we also lost our son Jeffrey in Afghanistan, on 10/29/07.
Christ said, no greater love is there than to lay down one's life for a friend. Please find comfort that your hero is in heaven, enjoying eternal bliss forever.
If there is anything we can help you with, please don't hesitate. We will be there to share in your sorrow and give you support and strength.
Alex, you will never be forgotten. Semper Fi!
