82, of Windham, NH, August 24, 2008 at his home. Born in Cambridge, MA, November 14, 1925, son of the late Joseph and Anna (Daili) Smilgis. Resident of NH for 16 years, formerly 35 years of Arlington, MA. Spent summers on a farm with his aunt, a founding member of the Sisters of Jesus Crucified Order in Pennsylvania, now Brockton, MA. Maintained his Lithuanian heritage through his connection to the Order as well as fostered his love of gardening. WWII Army Air Corps veteran. Former chief accountant for Priscilla Gowns of Boston, freelance cameraman for major New York and Boston television networks. A true entrepreneur owning many businesses throughout his life. President of QSI Systems in Woburn, MA and Salem, NH. Husband of the late Joan F. (Linehan) Smilgis. Father of Ann S. DeCaprio and her husband Douglas of N. Reading, MA, Nancy J. Smilgis of N. Chelmsford, MA, Peter Smilgis of Windham, grandfather of Adam and Michael Smilgis of Londonderry, NH, brother of Richard Smilgis and his wife Sally of Burlington, MA, uncle of Steven and Robert Smilgis as well as many other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Visiting 4-8pm Wednesday, August 27, 2008 in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral Mass 10:00 am Thursday in St. Mark's Church, corner of South Rd. and Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery, Derry, NH.
