ANGELIKA KANGAS Obituary

KANGAS, Angelika C. (Reckzeh) Age 83, died of complications from a gym fall, on October 12, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She is survived by her husband, George M. Kangas, of Pompano Beach, Florida; her stepdaughter, Jill Herman, of Bloomfield, New Jersey; and her brother, Steven Herman. She was preceded in death by Samuel Herman, of New York; her parents, Ralf and Lucia Reckzeh; and her biological father, Alard Spoot, of Baden-Baden, Germany.  Angelika C. Reckzeh was born December 2, 1941, in Baden-Baden, Germany, to parents, Ralf Reckzeh and Lucia Werk. She graduated from Mimico High School in Canada in 1960. In 1962, she moved to New York and accepted a position at Gardner Newman at Aquascutum, where she worked for more than 20 years. She was a model with the Eileen Ford Modeling Agency and worked for TJ Maxx for 15 years.  In 2007, she married George Kangas and partnered with her husband in the Arlington Hockey Club. Angelika was a social, active woman who was deeply involved in fashion industry for the majority of her life. She enjoyed fashion and fitness and that is how her friends and family will remember her.

Angelika was passionate about fitness, as was her husband, George. I was member of the same health club and George and Angelika were always together, supporting each other in their fitness goals. But moreover, their love for each other was most obvious. My heart goes to George for his enormous loss.
