Well, Sis, it's a year. A very LONG year and a very short year. How does that happen? Diane, Jaclyn and I just had a great visit with Emily and Del. It will be so nice to get them back here in New England.
As expected, Obama is doing one heck of a job. He is definitely the right person at the right time. Keep an eye on him. You'll see what I mean.
Getting used to not having you around hasn't been easy, but the support of the family helps. We all just have to work together and get together as often as possible. We knew it wouldn't be easy.
You and everybody else are at peace and that gives me peace of mind.
Watch out for us. But I think I know when you are. You leave little signs.
Love you always,
Irene and George

Hi Kiddo
Well here we are the first anniversary, and life's been quite an adjustment without you.
As Peter said many months ago, nothing is the same without you.
Last week Donna Kevin Steven and Mary came to visit, and I can't tell you how good it was to see them. They all look great, but I was sorry to see how Kevin's back is bothering him, and hopefully he will take care of that soon! Steve needs to go into politics, you would be proud of his words of wisdom, he takes after you, very wise!
Donna brought many goodies for us, the bread, pastries from you know where, and what a treat that was. And she made a special trip trip to Mrs. Nelsons and also brought some Haddock for Del! Mary had a blast with the girls in the neighborhood, and even stayed at a sleepover with them.
Oh and by the way, they took home a new red Chris Craft boat with them.
Tomorrow Irene Diane and Jackie are coming to visit and everything is ready for them. They will be here for 4 days and I will try and keep the girls at bay! It will not be easy, but it will be a blast trying.
Del is still laid off and looks like he will not be returing, who knows? I am still working at Staples, and they are holding their own.
I must say good by for now, as my emotions are acting up. Will miss dropping you a note each month, but as they say, life goes on, as we all must adjust. Recently Donna sent me a nice package of some of your special things and I will treasure them as long as I live.
Hopefully some day I will find another golfing partner, a mentor, a friend that can somewhat fill the gap in my soul.
Don't hesitate to visit now and then, when you see me crying and needing your support, just stop by, anytime.
As Patty said, see you on the other side someday, and make sure EVERYONE are right behind you to greet!
Many many kisses and hugs to you and everyone else, too numerous to mention, but we know who they are.
Love Forever Del & Em
XOXOXO

Anita,
So much has happened in the past few months!
I went to Scotland for New Year's to visit Sid and JenniD. We had a great time and you were always there with us.
I became an aunt, went on vacation to the South of Spain, got a promotion and payraise, and made the decision to leave the island later this year.
I applied for and got the work and travel visa for Canada! Once I enter the country, I can stay for 12 months and work anywhere I want! Right now I plan on being in Vancouver for 2010 Olympics. :)
I will definitely stop in the US on my way over and you won't be there to visit... I miss you so much!
Love always,
Tasha

Hi Kiddo,
Here we are, another month gone by.
All is well, although the NorthEast will be getting a snow storm tonight, enough all ready! We did not get this one, it came up from the south. I"ll just bet you don't miss the snow and cold!
Del is doing pretty good on his layoff, but he is NOT ready for retirement.
And me, I am working as much as possible, which is not much.
Koufy and I are hooked on the web-sight JigZone, we just can't stop, it is fun.
Patty is doing well, Irene & George too, as far as Pete & Mary, well you know them, not much corrspondence with them.
I'm off to make dinner now, will chat next month.
Love You Much!

Hi Kiddo,
Another month has gone by, number 9, and my how time does travel.
Obama is in office and off to quite a start. Before inauguration he had 85% of his staff ready, including Hillary as Secretary of State, and George Mitchell has come out of retirement to assist Hillary in foreign policy, cool!
There is light at the end of this very long tunnel.
They are building houses here, and hopefully they will move. There seems to be movement on a couple of houses, let's hope.
The job market is in rough shape everywhere. Del was laid off again last week, and will work for another 3 weeks, then laid off for 5 weeks. They are trying to keep things "afloat"
It's been a rough winter for everyone and no let up, it just keeps coming. Our roads have finally cleared up, they have been ice packed for a month.
Your house has sold and all those loose ends can now be tied up. Wish the circumstances were different, I miss our daily conversations.
Sending Love Kisses and a Big Hug, even though you don't do hugs, too bad, your getting it anyway!
Love to all

Merry Christmas Anita. Sure was different this year, but we all know you were watching over us. I think I have assumed the role of family baker! Wish you could taste one of my cupcakes! I believe my culinary talents are being helped along by you. We all miss you, but we know you will always be with us. Love you always, Allison
P.S. I am taking good care of George, just like I promised you I would.

Merry Christmas Kiddo,
Well, what better place to be on this joyist day, than with the "Big Boy"
And what a day this is for you all of you, family and friends, to be together.
I will bet the weather is better than here, cold and lots of snow on the ground.
Paul talked Del into going to Fort Myers, we are going to visit with Merle and Alma, leaving tonight. What a shame he did not come with me last Febuary.
We are going to Helen's for dinner soon, then back here to pack. We both miss home so much, and since you left us, our feelings are even stronger to "Get Back Home"
Next Christmas I will be with family either in the Northeast or the West coast, if I must walk!
Much to do this morning, will chat next month, and yes the tears still come.
Hugs and Kisses to all
We Miss you so much.

Merry Christmas, Sis. This sure is a different year, but we'll do fine. We're all strong and we lean on each other. Santa was good to all of us, especially the kids and that's as it should be. We'll toast to you. You have the best seat in the house to watch over us and there are a lot of us to watch over. If anyone can do it, it's you.
But don't be too greedy - let the others watch also. Just wanted to check in to let you know I think about you a lot. But you already know that! You know everything!
Love you and miss you.

Happy Thanksgiving, big sister. I'm so glad you finally paid me a visit. Unfortunately, all I remember was that you were wearing a white suit. It was accompanied by a huge smile, There was also a lot of people. I'm sure you were all getting ready for Thanksgiving. Boy, you sure are missed. All of you are missed. But at least you're all together. Whoever said it gets easier as time goes on lied. Everything here is going well. A busy day today and that's as it should be. We'll have lots of laughs, we'll toast to you and we'll all overeat. Give everyone a big hug and you guys eat all you want.
Love you and miss you.

Hi Anita,
Here we are, another month gone by, and what a month it was!
Obama is "The Man", and for the first time in many years, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
He has had news conferences, for the past three days, and the market is responding nicely. It is so nice listening to him, he is so smart and cool.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, your first away from us, and I know I can speak for all, when I say you will be missed very much.
Until next month, our Love to all, and by the way, have you played a round with Bob yet? You always liked playing with him.

Hi Kiddo.
I will start by saying, Thanks for visiting me last night, it took you long enough! You know how lonesome I have been for you lately, out here in the tundra, and how much I needed to see you.
You looked great, one hand in your pocket, that little grin on your face, and the beige long sleeved top with the black slacks looked good. I can imagine how much everyone misses you!
It was 5 years ago this month that the three of us visited Italy, and what memories Donna and I have, WOW!. The trip of a lifetime that will be cherished forever. Are you stomping on any grapes lately?
Your beloved Red Sox didn't make it to the World Series, but what a fight they put up! We are proud of them and it's on to next year.
It's looking good for Obama, finally we get to vote a week from tomorrow. Hopefully we can get on that, long long road to recovery, and hopefully we will see better days in our lifetime. I know how much "Hard Work" the presidency has been for George Bush, and how very much harder, it will be for Obama.
We are going into the 7th month without you, and life is not the same, as goes' the old saying "One day at a time."
Until next month, sending much love to you and all around you.
Kisses to you, Del & Em

Happy Birthday, Anita! Now of all years I remember it...
You are always on mind, especially with the election going on. Every time I read or hear a story about the candidates, I can hear your voice. You made politics so interesting! And chances seem pretty good that you will get your wish!
Zoom has created a new message board and I am making plans to visit Sid and Jenni in Scotland. Wish you could come! None of the LnC fans have forgotten you.
Love ya!

Happy Birthday big sister. I wish I could call you personally, but I think you hear me anyway. Actually, you're the one who has given us the gift. We've had the gift of you and your love and guidance all our lives. Now that I think about it, there is one more very important thing you can do. Please see to it that "You-Know-Who"
wins the election. You'd be proud of me to know how I think now, thanks to you. See? You've given me another gift. The gift of the true "Fair and Balanced" thinking. I love you and miss you more than words can say.

Hi Kiddo,
Well today is four months that you left us, and yes you guessed it, the tears still come.
Irene and Peter took care of things at your house, in the South, while everything was shipped North to the Cape and all is safe with Donna & Kevin. Seems like your golf cart will get a good work out down there.
Patty will be leaving this Saturday, after a month of glorious bonding with us. She never wound up in the Clubhouse, as she was a good dubee during her stay here.
All kidding aside, we got along fine, weather was great, and she really enjoyed it.
Donna has said, that she received a check from the Ladies at Nab, for the scholarship fund and that was so nice of them, I know how much they miss you too.
Well Anita, thats it for now, until next month we send much Love to everyone.

I think of you every day and I miss you so much. It is so difficult not being able to call you when I have exciting news to share, not being able to send you a postcard when I am on vacation, not being able to send you pictures...
I still have your email address in my address book, I just can't delete it.
Life must go on but you will always be part of it! I thank Emily for keeping in touch with me. That has helped a lot.

Today is eight weeks since you left us, and the tears still come.
I have been in touch with Tasha, and she just came back from a trip to Ireland. I had sent your memorial card to her, and she told me that you both had a nice trip, and enjoyed the scenery together.
I talked to Patty this morning and she is planning a trip up here for the month of August, and we are looking forward to seeing her. I told her if we get on each others nerves, we will throw her in the clubhouse to sleep for the night.
I have that nice picture of the four of us by the pool on my night stand, and kiss you every night before I sleep.
All is well here, but I know it's better where you are.
Much Love to All and a Great Big Hug

It's been a while since you left us. While life goes on, my missing you gets stronger. I was in the grocery store the other day, passing the books section and saw Nora Robert's latest paperpack. Had to stop the tears. It's amazing how something so small becomes so big. I'm constantly seeing or hearing something that reminds me of you.
Love to you all who went before us.

Sis...
Just thought I'd drop you a line, going through this executor business and I'm sure you're paying me back for something I did on Grove St...
Must of been the broken window(s) or being late for dinner or something.
Really miss you... a lot, who do I talk to about them Republicans and who's going to straighten it all out.
I'll make sure things go the way you wanted. Wish things were different.
Keep an eye out for us all

Anita,
Today is the 40th day, and the tears still come.
The kids gave me your clubs, and I must say, those Big Bertha irons did the trick, I shot 45 last Monday night. I will take good care of them.
George & Allison gave me your cell, you were always after me to get one, and I will use it as soon as I can figure it out.
Hope you are enjoying all your family and friends, give them all my love.
LAFF is dedicating their meeting to you this year, wish I could be there.
Everyone is giving so much support, but you know that.
Love You more than words can say.

It's hard to believe that it has been a month since my mother left us. She was my friend, mentor, confidant and head chef. Her love of family, enduring and unwavering strength and complete sense of self were her hallmark. Her love of laughter and good times were genuine. She was certainly one of a kind and will be forever missed. My hope is that she is looking down at us with her mother, father, brother, daughter, niece and grandson at her side and smiling down on us all.

Anita was truly a one-of-a-kind, genuine person - I've never known anyone more true to herself than Anita. She had such a passion for life - everything she did, she put her entire self into it. She had so much inner strength that allowed her to meet all of life's challenges that came her way - she kept on going through it all, and never complained about anything to anyone - she was truly remarkable and will always be admired. We will miss her very much, and her memory will continue to inspire us all.

I was fortunate enough to have Anita in my life as both an aunt and a friend. I will always remember our many lively discussions on pretty much anything — music, movies, politics, life, literature, cooking, Hollywood hunks, whatever. Anita pursued life with a great passion, something for which I admired her greatly. Not many of us know how to live, love, and laugh in the moment — but Anita did. We should all learn to live by her example — without regrets, making every moment count. I loved Anita so much, for so many reasons. She was generous, loving, intelligent, strong, and funny. Every family has its center — its nucleus — and for us, it was Anita. Losing her is like losing your footing in rocky terrain, not knowing where to find solid ground. Anita, I will always love you, and I will always miss you; may your memory be eternal.

Anita was such a loving, kind, caring, and humorous person. And I felt blessed to have her in my life! I will miss her spirit, her cooking, the political debates at the kitchen table, going for rides in the convertible with her, listening to Jimmy Buffett, and watching Lois and Clark episodes with her. I am so glad I got to experience that one more time when I saw her in Florida in March.
