ANN G. "NANCY" VANDERSLICE

VANDERSLICE, Ann G. "Nancy" Age 88, of Sudbury, MA, died peacefully, surrounded by family, on July 12, 2025. She was born Ann Nugent, in Philadelphia, into a large extended family, attended Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls, Temple University and worked at Merck. She met the love of her life, Richard R. Vanderslice, to whom she was married for 64 years and had two sons. They moved to Sudbury, Massachusetts in 1973, where she taught nursery school before switching to advertising sales, rising from secretary to district sales manager for New England in just two years. During a career lasting 30 years, Nancy worked for Cahners and PennWell publishing companies, among others. Nancy was well-loved, wherever she went and was known for her generosity of spirit and sense of humor. She enjoyed travel, music and books. She was involved in Sudbury civic life, volunteering for the historical society and was instrumental in protecting Nobscot Mt. from development. Mostly, she loved being with her family and friends and maintained many cherished friendships throughout her life. She leaves behind her son, Edward N. Vanderslice and his partner, Ann Bohrer; her granddaughters, Sarah Cunningham and Grace Chronis; their mother, Joni Burden; and her great-grandson, Josiah Cunningham. She was predeceased by her dear husband, Richard, Sr.; and her beloved son, Richard R. "Rick," Jr., MD.; her parents, Lawrence J. Nugent and Mary C. Nugent (Higgins); her brother, Lawrence J. Nugent, Jr. and his wife, Louise; and her niece, Kimberley Nugent. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, August 5, at 10:00 AM, in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Ascension Parish, Sudbury MA.
