Anne T. CARRIGG

CARRIGG, Anne T. Anne T. Carrigg, 87, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2023. Nancy, as she was called, was born in Brockton, daughter of the late Thomas F. Carrigg and Mora (Swift) Carrigg, the fifth of six children. She attended Sacred Heart School and St. Patrick High School in Brockton.

Nancy was a History professor at Stonehill College in North Easton for over forty years. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in History from Stonehill College, a Master of Arts Degree in Teaching from Boston College School of Education, a Master of Arts Degree in History, and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in History from Boston College School of Arts and Sciences. She held a graduate assistantship at the Boston College History and Government Department, and a four year teaching fellowship at the Boston College Department of History, the Boston College School of Nursing and the Boston College School of Education. She also taught at Fontbonne Academy in Milton. In 2017, she published The Conservation Movers: Experiments in Nature Philanthropy.

Nancy is survived by her sister, Mary Carrigg of Brockton; and nephews, Thomas, John, William, Joseph, Christopher and Paul Carrigg; and niece, Kathleen Butler. She also leaves several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her four older brothers, Thomas Carrigg, Jr., John, Rev.William, and Rev. George.

Family and friends will honor and remember Nancy by gathering for Visitation in Christ the King Church, 54 Lyman Street, Brockton, on August 18th, 9:15-10:15 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph. Arrangements are by the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, BROCKTON.
