DONOHOE, Anthony Of West Roxbury, passed away suddenly on September 12, 2022. Born in County Westmeath, Ireland, he was the son of the late Philomena (McCormack) and Peter P. "Paul" Donohoe. Loving father of Kate Brodoff of Dorchester and Alex Silberman of Cambridge. Cherished brother of Mary Nally and her husband Jim of Canton, Pauline Coyne of Readville, Peadar Donohoe and his wife Brenda of Crosshaven, Ireland, and Leonard Donohoe and his wife Elizabeth of Newton. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends here in the U.S. and Ireland. Anthony was a therapist who found deep meaning in helping his clients. He had a love of nature and enjoyed taking trips from retreats to vision quests. At the same time, he could be the life of the party, always interested in a new way to look at the world. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visit with Anthony's family in the William J. I was part of the "retreats and vision quests" that Anthony was a part of. I enjoyed him immensely, and he could go from deep and tender to wickedly funny in a second.
I found him remarkable... able to deal with and rebound from physical pain and injury to create a rich life without any sense of victimhood. I felt like I'd met a long lost brother. I'll miss him and give thanks for the time I had walking down life's trail with him.

Anthony sometimes joined us in Mettler based improvisation dance workshops.
His movement offerings added spice and compassion to our groups.
His sudden passing is like a spark rising and vanishing, a tricky move to embody, but he did it.

I only had the privilege of meeting Anthony about a year ago, but he has had a lasting impact on me. Anthony embodied strength, wisdom, intelligence, mystery, creativity, openness of spirit, gentleness, boldness, kindness, toughness, joy, and determination. He is the eagle, flying far above his beloved mountains and yet able to see every minuscule detail of the terrain below him. He is the lion, with courage to face any obstacle or hardship in his way boldly. He is the scales of justice, weighing every decision with impeccable wisdom. He is the master of structure, diligently working until his creative plans are pushed and pulled into reality. Rare human indeed. I raise a parting glass to Anthony and wish him a peaceful, pain-free, ten of cups happiness in the afterlife. You truly deserve it my friend.

Dalkey, Dublin, Ireland
We met Anthony through my brother Marty . First time was in the late seventies when we would travel to Boston. A wonderful spirit that enthralled us with his stories . Over the years we met him periodically in Ireland. He was truly in touch with nature. My son at the time was very young and Anthony sat in the front of my old Renault four and my ten year old son in the back and we headed from Dublin to Westmeath. Then in the distance spread out in front of us was this amazing lake.. 'stop the car' out he disappeared to reappear a half hour later to tell my son he was in touch with the fairies and spirits down by the lake. Nearly forty years later every time my son drives past that lake he smiles and thinks of Anthony. RIP
