BRIAN BINT Obituary

BINT, Brian Frederick Lionel A life well-lived It is with sadness and great love that we announce the passing of Brian F.L. Bint, age 94. Although challenged recently with several health issues, he remained cheerful, always greeting friends and strangers alike, with his charming English accent and warm smile. He was known for his kindness and charm. Brian enjoyed telling stories of his life in England during the war. He was born in Standlake, England, where his family ran a pub and farm. Brian was the second of four sons born to Lionel and Lillian Bint. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Clifford and Patrick; and his grandson, Jacob; his younger brother lives in Ohio and Florida with his two children. After school, he joined the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm and then the Rank Organizations top chief officer of the Theaters in Northern Briton, where he planned royal film openings and stage shows. He opened the Beatles first show in Manchester, England and other premier and stage shows, such as the Rolling Stones and Tom Jones. His first marriage ended in divorce, but produced his two beloved children, Paula Turner and David Bint. Brian immigrated to America, where he met the love of his life, Susan Heath. He joined her business Marian Heath Greeting Cards, quickly becoming it's managing director. He helped grow the small business into an internationally known organization, winning prizes for their designs. In 2001, they won card of the year at the Louie Awards, where founder Marian Heath, at 95, was recognized as "The Greeting Card Woman." Brian was past master of the Masonic Lodge in Manchester, England, celebrating 60 years in 2015. His faith was very important to him from being a choir boy in England to a Lay Eucharistic Minister and lector at St. Barnabas Church, in Falmouth. Brian and his family enjoyed traveling, including trips back to England, Europe, the Caribbean and many cruises. Brian leaves behind his wife, Susan (Heath); daughter, Paula Turner; and son, David Bint; his brother John Bint, stepsons, John Dunnell, David Dunnell, Mark Fields; grandchildren, Amy, Daniel, Hannah, Olivia, Kevin, Katie, James, and Jackson; as well as two great-grandchildren. Brian will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Susan, his many friends and family members both here and abroad. Known for his warmth and humor, he recently said at his ninety-fourth birthday, "I've had a great life and enjoyed every minute of it." Brian will always be remembered as a true English Gentleman. A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date, at St. Barnabas Church, in Falmouth, MA. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice or The Parkinson's Foundation.
