BRIDGET "BRIDIE" PRESTON

PRESTON, Bridget "Bridie" (Fitzgerald) Age 90, of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, passed away October 4, 2024, with her loving family by her side. Bridie was born in Waterville, County Kerry, Ireland, to the late Maurice and Hannah (Casey) Fitzgerald. Beloved wife of the late Bertie Preston. Loving mother of John Preston and his wife, Julie of Whitman, Colleen King and her husband, Steven of Marshfield, Janet Preston of New York City and Joanna Wilson and her husband, Michael of Norton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joseph and Patrick King, John and Jenna Preston and Owen and Hannah Wilson. Sister of John Fitzgerald and predeceased by her other siblings, Noreen Curran, Anne O'Sullivan, Patrick Fitzgerald and James Fitzgerald, all of Waterville, County Kerry, Ireland. Bridget also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. She enjoyed time at the Irish dance halls, where she met Bertie at the Intercolonial Ballroom. Bridget treasured her time with her family. She loved shopping, taking trips back to Ireland and her cup of tea. She will be deeply missed by all those she leaves behind. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Gregory Church, 2223 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, Saturday, October 12, at 10:00 AM. Family and friends are cordially invited. Visiting Hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Friday, October 11, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment in Saint Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
