CAROLE CHAET Obituary

CHAET, Carole R. Beloved Wife, Mother, Activist and Educator Carole R. Chaet, PhD passed away peacefully at home at 90 years of age. Born in 1932 in Boston, MA. Carole lived in Roxbury, Natick, Boca Raton and spent summers in Wells Beach, Maine. She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years Matthew Chaet; her sister Estelle Warner; her five children Sandra, Marcy, Paul, Pete, Suzy; daughters-in-law Elaine O'Neill, Patti Lis, Deb Robbins; son-in-law Charles Foster and beloved dog Buddy. Carol leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Carole had a tenured career as the head of the Social Studies Department at Cambridge Rindge and Latin K through 12, was an adjunct Professor at Simmons College and taught social studies at Sudbury Lincoln High. Carole was a fierce civil rights activist, pro ERA, anti-war and a defender of women's rights. She loved to travel the world, swim and played a mean game of bridge. She helped so many people throughout her life, was deeply loved and will be missed by anyone lucky enough to have known her. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to consider a donation to a Planned Parenthood organization in your area. Visiting Hours: A celebration in honor of her life is being planned by our family for the Fall.

I worked with Carole at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, as Head of the Leadership School, formerly house C. What a great presence, loving heart, and friend! She could always be relied upon to help clarify any misconceptions and move the needle forward. She will be missed.

She was a sister mother dear friend to everyone who knew her. She was a presence not easily missed. Without her many of us would not have become who we are. Oh Carole! I miss you and you will b in my heart forever.
