CAROLYN WILLWERTH Obituary

WILLWERTH, Carolyn "Cal" Ann (Wade) Our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother pass away peacefully at her home in Medford Massachusetts on Saturday, March 6th after a courageous battle with cancer. She had just celebrated her 83rd birthday. Born in Somerville, she was the youngest of three daughters born to John and Elizabeth Russell Wade. She married Robert J. Willwerth and together they were the proud parents of five children. Together, they started a rental property business which she continued until her death. Additionally, she worked for many years as a bookkeeper for an automobile dealership and as a personnel assistant. Cal enjoyed home remodeling, sewing, crocheting, crafting, reading, traveling, vacationing at Hampton Beach, NH, antiquing and finding treasures on Craigslist. Cal was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Charlotte Mac Isaac; her ex-husband, Robert Willwerth; and aunt and uncle, Carolyn and Mannie Bonadio. She is survived by her children, Robin Willwerth McAuliffe of Gales Ferry, CT, Sheryl Annino and husband Anthony of Sandwich, MA, Carolyn Willwerth and husband William Smallwood of Medford, MA, Robert J. Willwerth and wife Jane of Saugus, MA, Wade Willwerth and wife Lorraine of Reading, MA. Her grandchildren, Megan Teynor and husband William, Terence McAuliffe and wife Kaitlyn, Catherine McAuliffe, Anthony Annino and partner Thryne Franz, Jacqueline Annino and fiancé Joseph Drago, Michael Annino and wife Courtney, Jesse Lynn Giarla and husband Ryan, Zachary Willwerth, Kai Burgos, Thomas Willwerth, and Sydney Willwerth; and great-grandchildren, William, Henry, James, Kellan, Nolan, Walker, Avery and Ryder; her sister, Marie Willwerth and husband Joseph; her companion, Bob Sullivan; her furry pal, Patrick; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would especially like to thank Merrimack Valley Hospice, especially Dr. Joanne Novak, nurse Maureen 'Mo' Kennedy, and nurses, Brenda and Emacula who provided exceptional care for mom. Cal leaves behind a grieving family that will miss the family holidays where she decorated her whole house, Easter egg hunts on the front lawn, requests to pick up her Craiglist treasures, her gardens, and her home projects. She will be remembered for her hard work ethic, strong will, and her love of sharing her creative talents. Cal's legacy will live on. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Cal's memory to a veteran's organization, Smile Train or Merrimack Valley Hospice. Due to pandemic restrictions, Services will be Private. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
