Catherine A. LYDON

LYDON, Catherine A. "Catty"(Greene) Of Braintree, originally from South Boston, formerly of Quincy and Hanson, died on November 16, 2025. The beloved wife of the late James E. Lydon. Daughter of the late Peter and Mary A. (McDonough) Greene. Loving sister of Anna Griffin of Braintree and the late John Greene, Mary Davis and Margaret Wise. Catty is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Catty and Jimmy loved to travel. Trips to the Elms, the Cape Cod Irish Village, and Fort Lauderdale were annual events. Catty traveled to Ireland many times, her last trip at age 88! Catty made friends easily and remained lifelong friends with folks from her childhood in South Boston, the telephone company, and her later years at 1000 Southern Artery in Quincy.

Catty will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews. We all considered her our second Mom. She and Jimmy opened their hearts and home to all of us and we were so blessed to have her in our lives for so long!

She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Club, South Boston Irish American Club as well as the Castle Island Association.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the Visitation on Tuesday, November 25, from 10-11am, in St. Ann's Church, 757 Hancock Street, Quincy, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann's Church, Quincy, at 11 AM.
