My condolences for Charles Matter's passing. Charles was so patient with me and professional during my initial portfolio he did of me some time ago in 2001 when I was quite shy and since has gone missing. He will be in my prayers and considered such a one of a kind Artist.

There will be two memorial services for Charles this month. The first will be Friday, October 25th in Philadelphia where one of his sisters, Ann Matter, lives. The second on Saturday, October 26th in New York where Charles lived.

Hello everyone, my condolences.
I tried to book Charles today, only to find he had passed. As a Broker at Corcoran where I first met Charles, I had my most successful year in 2017. Charles was the guy taking the shot. When I moved to Compass he was the one who took the shots for my first few listings there. We would always talk about the art of photography, and I would eventually get a camera, and lens just like him, in hopes to be half as good as him.
This was really sad news for me to hear today, and I'm still choked up a bit, as he was more than just a photographer that I used. We shared laughs, cursed a few people's name in jest, and i considered him a friend. Sleep in peace Charles.

I just found out about his passing. Charles was a great guy and I miss him already. We weren't very close but I saw him every week for a few minutes and we would chat about photography etc. Does anyone know what happened with his dog? I would adopt him if possible. [email protected]

So sad to hear of Charles' passing. Charles was our go-to photographer and we really enjoyed every interaction we had with him. He was a fantastic guy and he will be greatly missed.
