CHRISTINE BOWEN Obituary

BOWEN, Christine Carr Of Plymouth, MA, passed away on November 26, 2021, at home in the care of her three beloved sons, after a brief illness. Christine was born on April 27, 1951 in North Adams, MA. She was adopted as an infant by John and Patricia Carr. A joyful and devoted mother, Christine is survived by her sons Jeremiah Bowen Jr. of Dorchester, Michael Bowen and Robert Bowen both of South Boston. She was predeceased by her former husband and son's father, Jeremiah Bowen Sr., who passed away in June 2019. Christine was the eldest in a lively Irish Catholic family of seven children. She leaves behind her siblings Pamela Carr of Hood River, Oregon, Jennifer (Philip) Shearer of Hanover, Jake (Elaine) Carr of Plymouth, Ellen (Fouad) Carr of Milton, Michael (Heather) Carr of Hanover, and Julie (Michael) Andrews of Braintree. She was also a loving aunt to 15 nieces and nephews, and 8 grandnieces and grandnephews. Christine is also survived by her partner Glenn Schiffer. A peaceful woman of strong faith, Chris had a great sense of humor and a positive and loving outlook on life. She worked throughout her life in the medical and financial fields, and in her leisure time she enjoyed walks on the beach, gardening, and backyard birdwatching, among other activities. Visiting Hours: A Celebration of Christine's life will be held for family and friends on January 8, 2022 at The Common Market between the hours of 6 and 10 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that gifts in her memory may be made to The New England Home for Little Wanderers or the Massachusetts Audubon Society.
