DANIEL AKIRA TESLER

TESLER, Daniel Akira Died peacefully in his sleep, on Saturday, April 20, at age 39. Dan was born in Kobe, Japan, on September 12, 1984, moved to Hawaii and then to Lexington, Massachusetts. Dan graduated from Lexington High School in 2002 and the Coast Guard Academy in 2006. He served honorably in the Coast Guard, earning the rank of Lieutenant. Dan made strong friendships and helped anyone in need. Dan studied finance at Harvard, then law at Northeastern. He started his own practice as a patent attorney and worked as a welder at GE Aerospace. Despite his cancer diagnosis, Dan focused on the important things. He was a loving husband and father, sharing his laugh, musical tastes and passion for classic cars. Dan leaves behind his wife, Rachel Jylkka-Tesler; and daughters, Jocelyn (8), and Sage (6). He also leaves his parents, Toshie and Ronald Tesler; his sister, Maile Tesler and her husband, Christopher Ledwith; as well as his cousins, Dara Alparen-Cipollone and Elizabeth Breslow; and his aunt and uncle, Adria and Paul Alparen. He was predeceased by his aunt, Phyllis (Tesler) Breslow. He also leaves many other close friends and family members. Visiting Hours: Dan was Laid to Rest in a small Graveside Service at the Locust Grove Cemetery in Gloucester. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Rockport Golf Club, on May 11, at 2pm.
