DANIEL WALSH Obituary

WALSH, Daniel Patrick "Walshy" A lifelong resident of Norwood, passed away on May 22, 2024, at the age of 45. Beloved husband of Sheila (Donovan) Walsh. Devoted and loving father of Michael Anthony Walsh. Loving son of Michael A. and Sheila T. (McDonough) Walsh of Norwood. Brother of Ann Marie Snyder and her husband, Jeffrey of Norwood. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. Walshy enjoyed the simple things in life. He had a passionate love affair with all Boston sports teams and Sour Patch Kids. With the thickest Norwood accent, he loved sharing stories and cracking jokes with others. Dan loved visiting his family in Ireland. He loved listening to Irish music and spending time by the water, especially in Popponesset. But there was nothing he loved more than being with his wife, Shelia and cherished son, Mikey. On the outside, Mikey is his clone. And internally, he is already demonstrating the true characteristics that encompassed his father. Those of loyalty, compassion, respect, extreme generosity, honor, a wicked sense of humor and simply a heart made of gold. At every walk of life, Dan cared deeply about anyone that had the pleasure of meeting him. From the scalpers around Fenway, the parking attendants in the North End, the server at Dunkin, to politicians, athletes and even the heads of movie studios, Walshy knew and was loved by all. After graduating from Catholic Memorial High School in 1997, Daniel proudly followed in his beloved father's footsteps working at the R.J. Devereaux Corporation. The Devereaux Corp. was Dan's second family. The Walsh's would like to thank them for their compassion, care, love and constant support. We are forever grateful for the life you have helped to provide. In addition, the family would like to extend their eternal gratitude for Daniel's care team in the liver and kidney unit at Beth Israel Hospital. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 3-8pm, at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington St., NORWOOD, MA. A Catholic Funeral will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Church, in Norwood, MA, on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 11am. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Norwood, MA. Immediately following the burial, a Celebration of Life will be held at The Norwood Elks. Please bring your dancing shoes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Norwood Circle of Hope Foundation, P.O. Box 421, Norwood, MA 02062.
