I worked closely with David when he was President of the Georgetown Club of Boston, and I was the Club's Event's Chair. He was a dedicated leader, a hard worker, a true professional and a class act. He made our volunteer work both rewarding and fun. What a shock to learn of his death. David and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I was a client of David's. My relationship with David was defined mostly by his representation of our firm in a very complex environmental matter. I'm glad he was on my side. Not only was he supremely skilled and competent, but showed tremendous judgment and grace in handling a variety of people in what is a difficult and sensitive situation. His family should be proud. He was a good man. I will miss him.

I just learned from my old friend and fellow Georgetown Alumni Club officer, Mark Quinn that David has passed away. Mark had recruited me, and David succeeded me as Club President. It was a privilege to know and to work with David. Words cannot express how grateful I am that we were friends. May he rest in peace and may his family know that he touched many lives. AMDG.

I'm so very shocked and saddened to hear about this tragic loss, and I want to express my condolences to David's loved ones. I worked for David 12 years ago at PB&L and my lasting memories of David (aside from the fact that he was an incredibly hard worker) are of the stories he would share about his children and wife, as well as the advice he gave me on raising children, as I was just beginning my own family at that time. I know that David will be remembered fondly by so many of his friends and colleagues.

It is with shock and immense sadness that I heard of David's death. For the 10 years I knew him and had done business with him while I was associated with The Grossman Companies, Inc. he brought complete professionalism, integrity and honesty to his work. He made the impossible jargon and nuances of the environmental legal practice easy to understand. It was a true joy to work with him. I will never forget the day he proudly showed off his mid-life crisis - the mini coop! This is a huge loss for all.
My condolences to the the Li and PBL families.

I knew David on a professional basis, but I will remember him for two personal conversations we had. The first was when I told him about my upcoming marriage and he spent the next half hour describing how much he loved his wife, Martine, and how happy his marriage made him. The second was when I told him that my wife and I were expecting a child and described the joy his children brought him. As I’m sure they know, David’s love for his family was deep and genuine. He will be missed.

The sad news remains heart-wrenching. My deepest sympathies go out to David's family, friends and colleagues through this tragic time. Over the past 11 years, I came to appreciate David as more than just an accomplished attorney whose passion guided him to many successes, but as a friend who loved to break away from the business talk to share stories about our families, his Mini-Coop and the progress of our aching backs. He never missed a chance to brag about his boys and how proud he and his wife were of them – his valuable insight as a father will always say with me. David, my friend, I will miss your guidance and camaraderie.

David Li was not only a fine and greatly respected Master and true gentleman, but a man who always displayed only the highest level of integrity. He taught us sparring with passion, led by example, and positively impacted so many, and for so many years.
David Li was accomplished in every area of his life. We are better because of him. That one person could touch so many lives in his 'too short' life, one can only imagine how much nicer this world will be if we continue to follow his example. May his memory be eternal. With love, respect and deepest sympathy, to Mrs Li, Gregory, Christopher, Alex and the Li family.

I worked closely with David for 14 years. We co-chaired our law firm's environmental department, and supported each other in every way. Clients adored David. He was conscientious and strong, yet humane. He was part of the fabric of the law firm. David had a wonderful sense of humor and extraordinary insight and clarity of thought. It is not often one has a real close friend at work. We all miss him very much.
