I have read all these accolades for Dr. Victor and feel the same about this wonderful, intelligent and truly happy man. My daughter had a detached retina at nineteen and after four operations in Boston the doctor was unable the save her sight. Dr. Victor treated for her regular eye exams and she thought the world of him and still does. My husband and I felt the same . We all miss his caring ways and jovial personality. He was one of a kind and the world lost a wonderful human being. His wife and daughters were truly blessed to have him. Thank you for sharing him with us. I hope Dr. Victor you are up in heaven making everyone laugh. We will miss you forever.

Such a wonderful man...w/ great curiosity especially about people.

His bedside manner was so appreciated by me and my family when I was at Hopkins in the 70s undergoing novel treatment for my optic nerve glioma.

He is an inspiration.

so sorry to hear...

An absolutely wonderful person and doctor, and I was so lucky to appreciate his remarkably empathetic bedside manner when I was a patient with an optic nerve glioma at Johns Hopkins in the mid-seventies.

My life, in good measure, prospers thanks to Dr. Victor's humor and experience and thoughtful care.

Thank you, and blessings to Dr. Victor and his family.

Sincerely,

Peter Kleppinger McLean, Ph.D.

Today, I woke thinking of this good man, my doctor who assisted on my remarkable optic nerve glioma at Hopkins so many years ago. I well remember his good humor, his empathy, his thoughtfulness.

May he continue to inspire and comfort all of us...he certainly does me.

Sincerely,

Peter Kleppinger McLean

On behalf of our family, our deepest sympathy to the family of Dr. David Victor.

Dr. Victor lovingly cared for our son for several teen-aged years, during a serious illness, and we will always be indebted to him for the devotion and compassion he extended to our son and to our family.

Dr. Victor was a brilliant doctor, but, more importantly, he was a decent human being.

Dear Merna, Lauren and Rachel,
I am so sorry for your loss. The service today was beautiful and very moving. It is evident that we all knew the same man. Whether you were family, friend, patient or co-worker, what you saw was what you got with Dr. Victor. He had no airs about him, and treated everyone as his equal.

If he was still at work with us right now, he would be running from room to room singing Christmas carols to us in between. We would then hear him asking patients which was better? Uno, dos, tres, or maybe une, deux, trois? Then he would laugh. That laugh is what we will remember. I worked with him for more than 20 years and always envied his love of life. He will be missed by many. May he rest in peace.

Dr. David Victor was a compassionate and kind physician. He gave 100% of himself to his profession continuing to further his knowledge in the field of medicine, helping those afflicted with the most serious illnesses, always pushing the known limits of knowledge in his fields of ophthalmology and neurology.

The field of medicine has lost a great man who along with his talents, will be sorely missed.

I extend my sympathy, concern and love to his family.

Dr. Victor was a brilliant doctor and a friend to my entire family. He once said to me that he loved medicine so much, he would PAY to do the job. He cared about his patients, a trait that is lacking in medicine today. He aggressively treated my MS and I will be forever grateful. I miss my doctor and friend and wish his family strength during this very difficult time.

I want to express my sympathy to your family. Dr.Victor helped my mother greatly in her battle with glaucoma. He took great interest in her and all of his patients. I was saddened when he retired because I know that he loved his work. I treated him as a dental patient for many years and always enjoyed his great joviality and discussions of life, politics but especially liked hearing about your family and the accomplishments of his daughters.
I will miss his rushed entrances, his loud voice and his warm personality. His passing leaves a void in this world.
