Earlier today
I met Fran thru officiating basketball. He was an outstanding official and a Great man!! Fran was the leader of a group of officials that all resided in the Boston area.
Fran and his boys were some of the best and funniest people I have ever met. I am fortunate to call Fran my friend.
God Bless Fran and his family
Sincerely,
Terry Murphy

Fran was a great basketball coach. He had great success at St. Mary’s, Cambridge then came back to his Alma Mater, Matignon and turned around a struggling program in one year in 1975. He was Bill Belichick before Bill Belichick. His philosophy was if you are going to do something you do it right. He taught many life lessons that had a tremendous impact on all of his players lives. He was a mentor to me personally on my coaching career in terms of X’s and O’s and coaching philosophy. He was a great man!!!

Please accept my deepest sympathy and condolences for your loss.
I played golf often with Fran at fresh pond golf course and in Florida in January several years.
Fran was not only the best golfer in the group but he was the nicest guy with a very pleasant and wonderful personality .
He will be missed by all the golfing friends.
May God bless his soul

To Fran's family, I send my deepest sympathies. He was the kindest, nicest person I have ever known. I was a classmate from Matignon, class of 1963; he was our president and led with true and loving care for all of us. Our reunions, which he organized and moderated, will not be the same without him there. He will be truly missed. He is no longer suffering in this world, and is with our loving Father in His Heavenly Kingdom. May God give those he left behind wonderful memories and the strength they need during this loss.
