DR. DENTON "NED" MACCARTY

MacCARTY, Dr. Denton "Ned" Denton Edward "Ned" MacCarty, M.D., formerly of Concord and Haverhill, died peacefully on October 13, 2024, at age 93, in Burlington, VT. Dr. MacCarty joined the staff of The Waltham Hospital, Waltham, MA, in 1968, where he practiced radiology for 28 years, was named Chief of Radiology, and also served as President of the Medical Staff, Chairman of the Medical Staff Executive Committee, and member of the Board of Trustees. He retired from practice in 1996. Ned was predeceased by Jackie, his beloved wife of 65 years. Ned is survived by his son, John (Karen) of Billerica, MA; daughter, Kelly M. Doherty (Dr. William) of Andover, MA; and son, Michael (Dorothy) of Nashua, NH. He is also survived by five grandsons, Matthew Doherty (Megan) of Hopkinton, NH, Liam Doherty of Andover, MA, Paul MacCarty (Alexandra) of Denver, CO, Brendan MacCarty of Fitchburg, MA, and Sean MacCarty of Pepperell, MA; and by one great-grandson, Casey MacCarty of Denver, CO. Calling Hours will be held at the Ready Funeral & Cremation Services at 261 Shelburne Road, BURLINGTON, VT, on Sunday, November 3rd, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark's Catholic Church on North Avenue, Burlington, VT, on November 4th, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Park Cemetery, 200 Hinesburg Rd., South Burlington, VT.
