At the most recent ASRM Diarmaid attended he had found a book at the book sellers booth that he wanted to share, " There Is No Planet B" by Mike Berners-Lee.
A play on the idea that humans think okay if plan A doesn´t work we go to plan B, except this was relating to our stewardship of the natural world.
His big picture mind set was every bit as compelling as his attention to the tiniest details.
He will be remembered most fondly and with honor!

We are in the early 90's and Diarmaid flew Boston-Logan to Paris- CDG for the annual european fertility show.
I picked him up CDG. With his tweed luggage, Diarmaid had a big shipping box. Inside the big box was his latest invention, a motility analyzer that Diarmaid had baptised IVOS.
I had a small Renault car, with an even smaller boot. It was impossible to fit the boxed IVOS into the boot, or wedge it through the car doors. Diarmaid snapped open the box, and plopped his IVOS on the front seat.
We got the top and bottom of the box into the back seat and we were off to a charming little hotel on the Left Bank that Diarmaid called our "QG".
At the fertility show, his IVOS was a sensation and would go on to become the gold standard in the fertility world.

My deepest condolences to Diarmaid´s family and friends. I met Diarmaid and his wife Meg through their business in 2009 and have interacted with them ever since. Diarmaid was an exceptional, creative man with varied interests and a deep curiosity about things. Always a gentleman, Diarmaid will be missed by all that knew him.

What a man! So many wonderful memories. He will be sorely missed. Reckon he is now the celestial guard at Table Mountain. Cheers, mate!
Meg and family - my sincere sympathies!
