1933 - 2021

JACOBS, Donald R. "Jake" Of Fort Myers, Florida. "Jake" passed away peacefully with many family members by his side on October 31, 2021, at Hope Hospice in Ft. Myers. Jake was born on January 27, 1933 in Boston, formerly from West Roxbury, Dedham, and Chatham. Married to his beloved wife Ethel Mabel for 65 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Mabel, his sister Phyllis Abbott and his brother Louis. Jake owned his own plumbing business with his brother Lou known as L H Jacobs Plumbing and Heating in West Roxbury, MA. Jake attended the Robert Gould Shaw elementary school in West Roxbury and graduated from Boston Technical High School in 1950. He was an Army Veteran in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1956. Jake served as President of the Parkway Boston Lions Club for many years. He was a past President of Hidden Harbour Condominium Association, also was a volunteer of the Hidden Harbour Walking Wounded Group and volunteered at bingo. For many years Ethel and Jake were considered the welcoming committee for the Association. Jake was known for his smile, laughter and was always the life of any party and he was always teased because he would never miss a party. He is survived by his wife Ethel, his daughter Donna DiNicola, her husband Bob, their children Jason, Danny, and David. David's wife Erica and their two children Hailey and Riley. Jake's son Donald Jacobs, Jr, his wife Paula, their children Colleen and her two children Brooke and Evan, and two sons Christopher and Donald the 3rd. Jake's daughter Debbie (Jacobs) LeBlanc and her three children Michael, Lindsay, and Colleen. In lieu of a wake or funeral per Jake's wishes, all family and friends are invited to join us for a Celebration of Life on November 11th at the VFW Post on Eastern Ave., Dedham, MA from 5:00PM to 8:00PM.
