To.Robert,Donnie and,Mark Walhberg.
The hardest thing in life is the lost of a loved one,but you must understand that your father was very much loved by all.
I've had your father in my life for many years. The last time I seen him was in 1976, I was only 5 years old and your father gave me a very special gift. He gave me a charm and after all these years I'm still wearing it. Your dad stay'd in my life, He was the only thing I had close to my heart and, I can't beleave he's gone. You must remember this is just as painful for me as it is for all of you.He always sacrifice his life for others and the wonderful stories than become special memories.
I love you all and, God Bless you all.
Robert, Donnie, Mark , Please keep the memories alive because your father will always and forever be a hero, and even now that he is with god I will always respect and still love him more and more each passing day. I love you and miss you dearly. God Bless

Paul, I was so sorry to hear that your father passed away. I have so many memories of him that make me smile. I can still hear him yelling, "Hey Paul, get up here!" And I remember how happy he got every Christmas. I always hoped my path would cross his again someday so I could thank him for all of his kindness to me. I'm so sorry to think of how heartbroken you must be to lose him. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Lisa

In a time such as this words may seem trivial and memories both painful and joyful. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and that your father will never be far from you as he will remain forever in each of your hearts. Your family has meant so much to me through the years that I can only hope my prayers in some way help to bring you all some comfort. God Bless.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not're coming here to me.

An Irish Funeral Prayer - Death is nothing at all.It does not count.I have only slipped away into the next room.Everything remains as it was.The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.Call me by the old familiar name.Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.Put no sorrow in your tone.Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.Let it be spoken without effortLife means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again

Dear Wahlberg family,
I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. It is a strange coincidence that while I was watching the Ellen Degeneres show this morning, I logged on to the Bosotn Globe online to find my aunts obituary. I see Mark on tv then find this announcement a minute later about his Dad. I live on Cape Cod and lost my Dad as a child 30 years ago. Like your Dad, mine too was a vet and you should be very proud of his service to our country. Please accept my sincere condolences, Tricia Nilsson. Mashpee, MA

To the Wahlberg and Donnelly families,
Some of you may have heard this story before but some of you haven't. In 1980 when our house in Dorchester was on fire, your Dad could see the flames from your house behind us. He raced up to our house and ran in not even thinking about the ramifications of his actions....He ultimately found our grandmother up in the attic grabbing items to take out of the house. He cajoled her into making her way outside because the house was ablaze just 20 feet away. So in other words your Dad saved our grandmother from some uncertain but for sure certain fate. Only Tara and her were home at the time. Tara was only 7 at the time so you can imagine the outcome had he not run into the house! May God bless all of you and remember all the wonderful stories and memories you have about your Dad. We certainly had a wonderful neighborhood in Dorchester back then. We will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers. With deep respect and sympathy,
