EDWARD M. "ED" CASH

1950 - 2016

CASH, Edward M. "Ed" Of Winthrop, died peacefully on July 16, 2016. He was 65 years old. Husband of Mary Ann, proud father to Edward J. of Washington D.C., William D. of Revere, and Kevin J. of Brooklyn, NY. Brother to Thomas, Colin, Walter, Peggy (Riley) and the late Daniel Cash — all of Winthrop. Son of the late Daniel and Kathleen (Hurley) Cash. Graduate of St. Dominic Savio High School, class of 1968. Veteran of the United States Navy where he served during the Vietnam War with the USS Meredith in Morocco. Life member of the Winthrop Yacht Club, longtime parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church, and a past member of its Buildings and Properties Committee. He was instrumental in the many renovations of the parish properties and the creation of the church's lower chapel which held a special place in his heart. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 20 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop, MA. An 11 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow. Interment will be at Winthrop Cemetery, Belle Isle Section. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made in Ed's memory to St. John the Evangelist Church, Buildings and Properties Fund, 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop, MA 02152. The Cash family is extremely grateful to the nurses, doctors and staff at the Boston Medical Center, 5E MICU.
