EDWARD D. FOX

FOX, Edward D. Ed passed away peacefully on October 17th after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Victor and Julia Fox; his brothers, Raymond and Isaac; and his sisters, Mary and Esther. He is survived by his beloved niece, Donna, as well as other nieces and nephews. Ed proudly served in the United States Army, where he achieved sharpshooter status. As a CPA, Ed worked for several accounting firms in the Boston area before becoming the CFO and Treasurer for Mass Envelope, a position he held for many years. After retiring, he continued to contribute to the accounting profession by working seasonally with Cintolo and McCarthy CPA's in Boston, where he played an integral role in the firm's success. Ed was known as a mentor to many young accountants, sharing his vast knowledge, experience, and patience to help launch the careers of countless professionals. His expertise in both accounting and tax was rare in an age of specialization. After retiring early to care for his elderly mother and later, his sister, Ed remained dedicated to his family. He was an incredibly inquisitive and learned individual, spending many hours researching and reading on various topics. He was particularly skilled with computer software, especially those used in the accounting field. In his later years, Ed enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He was a kind neighbor and friend to all, and he will be deeply missed. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Care Dimensions Hospice in Lincoln for their excellent care, especially Addy, Holly, and Lucy.
