EDWARD C. KELLY

1939 - 2021

KELLY, Edward C. Age 82, of Franklin, passed away peacefully, at home after a brief illness on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. Born in Boston, MA on January 29, 1939, he was the son of the late Edward Kelly and Katherine Davey and stepfather Bob McAvoy; and brother of the late Ann(Nancy) Dyer of Hyde Park. He was raised and educated in Mission Hill (Roxbury). In 1968, Edward and his wife of 56 years, Maureen, moved to Franklin where they raised and educated their four sons, Edward, Jr., John, Michael and Derek.  Edward was a proud grandfather of 5 and 1 great-grandchild. After graduating from catholic school in Boston, he went on to Northeastern University, earning a graduate degree in finance. He was also a proud Navy veteran from 1962 to 1965. During his time in the Navy he became lifelong friends with a few of his fellow Navy veterans. He worked at Northrop Grumman in Norwood, MA for over 30 years as a financial analyst.  After retiring from Northrup Grumman, he worked part-time at Putnam Investments in Franklin, MA for several years. He was a proud life long member of the Franklin Elks for 50 years and also a member of the Franklin Rod & Gun Club. Edward was known for his entertaining stories he could still tell to his last day. He was a WWII history buff,  reading and watching anything to do with the history of WWII. He enjoyed watching the local sports teams,  especially the Patriots while hoping he would hit a square. Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours Monday, December 27th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, in the Charles F.
