Edward Kimmen Obituary

Affectionately known as Captain Ed, passed away at his home in Boca Raton, Florida on Thursday, November 22, 2007. Born July 9, 1951, in Michigan, he graduated from Grosse Pointe High School and attended the University of Michigan. Ed moved to Boca Raton in 1974 and began his career in real estate, founding Kimmen Realty and Three Star Properties. Ed was an avid golfer with a respectable handicap and enjoyed teaching the finer golf techniques to his golfing partners. But in 1995, he decided to follow his first passion and founded both Find-A-Fish and Old Hatt fishing charter companies. He enjoyed spending his time on the water and with his family. Ed was the loving husband of Patricia, who passed away October 30, 2007. He is survived by his two children, Bret (17) and Caitlin (20), his sister, Rebecca Killigrew of Wellesley MA, his nephews James Killigrew of Los Angeles and Michael Killigrew of Chicago. He leaves behind his faithful companions Ranger and Jazmine, his two retrievers. Captain Ed will be remembered for his enthusiasm for life, his generosity, and the warm smile he brought to all. There will be a memorial service held at the Advent Lutheran Church, 300 E. Yamato Road, Boca Raton, on Sunday, December 2, 2007. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Ed's honor to Hospice by the Sea of Boca Raton.
