My son and I recently learned of Fr. Moretti's passing. Unfortunately, my own father's passing had kept my son and I away from the church...and learning of Fr. Moretti's passing brought us home. Even in death, Fr. Moretti's spiritual presence is ever powerful. You will be missed. Your love of God, the church and all of His people was evident. You're in His loving care and in our prayers. Please take care of my son's grandpa.

My dad, who was not very spiritual and certainly not Catholic, considered Father Moretti a good friend. On my dad's last day alive, we called Father Moretti, who immediately rushed to the hospital to administer last rites (and who immediately left as my dad's passing was obviously upsetting to him). I have always been very grateful to Father Moretti for his kindness that day, and his friendship with my dad.

Monsignor was a distant cousin of mine, and over the last 15 years we had several opportunities to talk on the phone and meet for coffee. I can see why he was selected to be the Vicar-General of the Diocese: he was the best of what you would want in a priest and in a bishop. May God bless his soul and bring him to Heaven. "His life was an inspiration...his memory a benediction."

Father Moretti was such a wonderful man, he is sadly missed. I so looked forward to his Mass and the words that he spoke from his own experiences and his love of Jesus Christ. He was such an inspiration. Thank you. My condolences to his family.

To Fr Moretti's family: I am so sorry for your loss. What an amazing human being. To know someone so real and with so much faith is truly unusual. He helped me draw closer to God. As a young mother with cancer not knowing my fate he reminded me that when there is no where else to turn it is Him who we can lean on. Thank you Fr Moretti for your gift of compassion. I deeply regret that I didn't tell you goodbye.

Fr Ed was a big part of the lives of the kids of thehCYO at St Lazarus Parish in East Boston. Growing up in the sixties had its own set of challenges and having a strong presence around like Fr Ed provided a much needed connection to reality. He never forgot us. You could just show up unannouced for Mass at Sts Peter and Paul in Brandenton and always count on a big smile and warm greeting.

God bless you, Fr. Ed.

Father Ed was the guiding light to many who attended St. Lazarus CYO in East Boston in the late 60's. He made our Friday night dances and all of our events something special for us and he wasn't afraid to get up and dance with us. He was a special man and priest. Rest in Peace - Father Ed.

I've known Father Moretti since I moved here over 27 years ago. We first met at "St. Sugg" until Sts. Peter and Paul Church was ready. My daughter, Tara, wasn't baptized there because the church was not built yet, but she made her communion and confirmation with Father Moretti at Sts. Peter and Paul and always thought he would have married her someday too. He was always the most honest, kindest and caring man I have ever had the privilege to know. He is missed and will be missed greatly.
He is now in heaven....
Thank you Father Moretti..........

Msgr Moretti was one of the priests at Ss Peter & Paul that helped me through the difficult passing of my mother, he was like a loving grandfather there to comfort me through my sadest moments. I will miss his smiling face, quick wit, stories of the Holy Land and his sudden urge to break out into song...usually..."Is it me Lord?" while greating parishioners after Mass. You are in God's loving arms now and feel no pain and finally gazing upon the face of the Man you served so humbly, Jesus Christ. Your sister in Christ always and forever!!

Msgr Ed was the most generous, kind, loving, friend to my children/me at St Joseph's Church/School..yrs ago. Our community will continue to reap the benefits of his good works...His vision became a reality in Sts Peter & Paul Parish...(tho humble, an astute businessman)..God has surely given him a "Job Well Done" (and made him his assistant!!) With a sad but grateful heart, I thank God for him and offer condolences to his family. Cathy Eaton (children, Bill & Liz)

Back in 2007, Monsignor Moretti shared a room with my Dad in Blake Hospital. My Dad enjoyed so much having him for a roommate and talking with Monsignor Moretti. When my Dad passed away later in the year, he sent my Mom a sympathy card as he had kept my Dad in his prayers. He will be greatly missed by all.

Father Ed served our Parish of St. Lazarus in East Boston back in the 60's. He was a young face back then and gave such life and vitality to our church. He worked extensively with the young kids and we all grew to love him and his easy way of communicating with us. I've often wondered what happened to him...the good people of Bradenton were so lucky to have him for as long as you did. Rest in peace father, you made a difference in this world while you were here and now you are with Father in heaven.

Monsignor Moretti was a great man, a holy man who told his parrishoners often that when his time came he wanted to hear these words from Jesus. "Well done Ed." I know in my heart this is what he has heard, and is now with our heavenly Father. You will be greatly missed by all.

Father Ed was an inspiration and friend of the youth of Saint Lazarus Parish. I will never forget the Summer trips to Rolands Ice Cream when Father Ed took as many of us that would fit in the car and treat us all to ice cream. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him. May God bless and keep Father Ed for all eternity.
