Dear Karen, Gretchen and Erika,
Kristin called soon after receiving Erika's E-mail with the news of your unexpected and devastating loss. I can't begin to explain how shocked we were and how deeply sad we feel. Kristin knew first hand how special Ned was to Gret and how much all of you relied on him for his strength. Your sorrow is unimaginable but I know you feel blessed that Ned's final months weren't spent lingering and struggling. I hope you find comfort in each other arms and peace in the days ahead. The ocean is such a healing place.
My thoughts are with all three of you,
With love,
Betsey

Auntie, Alex, Teddy, Erika and Gretchen,
We are so sorry for your loss. Uncle Ned was a real fighter. He fought so many ailments these last few years...it's hard to believe it's possible he could have lost one. He will be sorely missed. You all will be in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
