Knights, Edwin M., Jr., M.D. Age 90, died on September 19, 2015 in Nashua, NH. He was born on Dec. 25, 1924, in Providence, RI, the son of Edwin Munroe and Viola Ruth (Koreb) Knights, m. Ruth Lindsay Currie, Sept. 23, 1961. AB, Brown U., 1948; MD, Cornell U., 1948, Intern Bellevue Hosp., NYC, 1958; pathology resident RI Hosp, 1949, Henry Ford Hosp, Detroit, 1952-54. Medical Examiner, Flint, MI. FASCP, FCAP, FACP. Author: Ultramicro Methods for Clinical Laboratories, 1957. Ed was a pathologist, and also a ringside physician in Detroit for Golden Gloves and professional boxing, including world title fights. He operated a 230-acre tree farm in Michigan, and enjoyed playing jazz and show tunes on the piano. Ed wrote numerous articles for History magazine and other periodicals, often on nautical matters and use of DNA in genealogy. He started a company to preserve human DNA. Knights; Children: Ross D. and Edwin B. Knights, Jessie K. Collura; Grandchildren: Henry, Elizabeth, and Daniel Knights; Great-grandchildren: George and Penny Knights. SERVICES: There will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the NH State Veterans' Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
