My deepest sympathies to Eileen´s family & friends. Eileen´s numerous contributions to worker´s health are only outweighed by what a wonderful human being she was - her generosity as a colleague & mentor, her warmth, good humor & zest for living. So fortunate to have worked crossed her path & worked together.

My deepest sympathies. Eileen was truly one of the most dedicated and inspirational people it has ever been my privilege to work with. One of her many contributions to public health was her work with the Environmental Protection Agency, Indoor Environments Division, where she made lasting contributions that continue to help protect people across the globe from indoor exposures.

Eileen and I were medical school classmates and friends. From the first time she addressed the class, her clarity of thought and compassion for others were evident and daunting. She will be missed as a truly beautiful person and a unique force for good.

The Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health Environmental and Occupational Medicine and Epidemiology Program expresses our deep sadness at the loss of our dear colleague and friend, Eileen Storey. Eileen contributed to our educational programs in many ways - she was an instructor in a multidisciplinary course that focused on the role of science in developing regulations to protect worker health. Also, she was a role model for our physician trainees in our preventive medicine residency program. She brought all of her experience as a preventive medicine physician for 4 decades to our school. She had a keen sense of social responsibility and the importance of incorporating prevention into practice. We will miss her very much and send condolences to her family and friends.

I had the good fortune to work with Eileen as part of NIOSH NORA Service Sector Council & then have her mentor me in the role of co-chair, when she left that role. In addition to the numerous, well-deserved accolades that describe Eileen´s career dedicated to workers´ health & workers´ rights, foremost was Eileen´s warmth, generosity, funny, caring, smiling self. Those of us who got to work with her were blessed by what we learned and how she inspired us and also to be in the glow of such a dynamic woman with such a zest for life. My sincere condolences to family & friends.

1983. Eileen taught Robin and me that you don't change cloth diapers every 15 minutes when damp. Instead, you cover the diaper with rubber britches.
2021 Eileen and George got a house for 4 days in the dead of winter in Acadia Nat'l Park, northern freezing Maine. We 4 had the whole park to ourselves and it was too beautiful for words.
In the intervening decades, a steady river of love, altruism, engagement, adventuresomeness, kindness, humor, accomplishment and many more things harder to express.
We treasure the time we have spent with her and George.

I remember driving to Boston in 1969 with Dr Patrick Storey, wife and family in 1969. I was starting a job at Wellesley College assisting the admission of 90 black women in an affirmative action program and Eileen was entering Radcliffe as a freshman. Her father drive us up to Boston. We were in sporadic touch after that but always knew what each of us was up to. My deep condolences to the Storey family, great friends of my parents from the Bronx days. Both my parents were at grammar school with Eileen's mother, Mary Flanagan at Sacred Heart and my Grandmother, Adele McCue, and father were life long friends of Eileen´s father, Uncle Pat and his wife, Mary. Eileen was a very bright woman, dedicated and hard working. She went into medicine not be a millionaire in the US´ bizarre health care system but as a public servant who cared about people´s health irregardless of race or class. She will be sorely missed.

Dr. Storey was an incredible public health advocate. I worked with her on several occasions and always enjoyed her formidable intellect but warm and charming style. She will be sorely missed in our very tight-knit occupational health community.
