To Lynne, Brian, Tori and Bre.Auntie Eleanor was joyfully influential in my life from childhood into adulthood. She was my Godmother, and took that role seriously and lovingly! She was always my hero I told her all the time I wanted to be her when I grew up lol.
From trips to a little dress store on Mass Ave so she could pick up a dress, to Filenes so she could buy her favorite perfume, Coty Styx, to helping her sort her many pairs of shoes (She was the only one I ever met back then that had more than one pair of shoes, and she had many), to teaching me how to dress, wear makeup, and always making me feel special, she passed on her gifts of joy. She smiled through everything.
When Lynne was born, she dressed her like a little doll, taught her to welcome Brian and then Eileen. She loved sharing stories of her children, bragged about Lynne’s art, Brian’s receiving the highest Boy Scout Award, and then being valedictorian of his class, and Eileen’s caring for people that life had not been kind to. She loved her children passionately, and never missed an opportunity to talk about them.
Her love extended to nieces and nephews both on the Boeri side and the Dunne side,
and let us all know that we could call her for any problems we had, and she would help.
She left a wonderful mark on this world, and my children and grandchildren greeted her like a rock star.
Thank you Auntie for being my Aunt and my cherished friend. Thank you for teaching me to laugh, and thank you for crying with me. I shall never forget you.
With love from Marie

We're so saddened to hear of Auntie Eleanor's passing. Her genuine smile, gentle nature, and love for family were her super powers. She was adored by my dad and all of her siblings. I'm certain there was one heck of a greeting party waiting for her! Lynne and Brian (and Eileen) she was so proud of you! Heaven's a better place now.

May the spirit of three carry this amazing lady on her Journey. She will always be remembered as a 2nd type of Mother to many of us growing up in Somerville. She was so kind and giving and raised and nurtured all her children with all the morals and kindness she had in her and they are her Legacy. God must have kept her on our earth to do his work for as long as he did. I am sorry in more ways than 1 that I didnt visit her as I should have.
Brian and Lynne may all the good memories sustain you in your loss and remember We never lose the ones we LOVE so long as we LOVE the ones we lose... With heartfelt Sympathy to you and yours. SUE GOULD
