TOPPING, Eleanor K. Eleanor Topping of Belmont, MA, passed away June 16, 2020, following a courageous fight with pulmonary fibrosis, in the presence of her husband Ira Topping and their two children Gabriel Topping and Rosa Topping. She is also survived by her siblings Tom, David, Michael, Denis, and Tina, as well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and beautiful great-nieces and nephews. Eleanor was a caring and giving person, made up of pure love and light, and left nothing but warmth and care with everyone who knew her. She had a contagious smile and strong will. She was the sun on a dark day, the cool breeze on a hot day. The twinkle in her eyes could warm the darkest, most inner part of anyone's soul. We now have another angel on our side to help us fight for peace, which is what she always wanted. May her spirit continue to guide us through this life, and always remind us to live and lead with our heart. There will be a private ceremony. To make donations in Eleanor's honor please consider Project Bread, http://www.projectbread.org/, the Kestrel Land Trust https://www.kestreltrust.org/, or the Equal Justice Institute https://eji.org/. Visiting Hours: At a later date.

Eleanor was always so thoughtful, warm and funny. I looked forward to our lunches together at the Rockefeller Cafe at the Div School. She especially loved her kids and always spoke so highly of them. I am so sorry for your loss Gabriel and Rosa.

My Aunt Eleanor is and was an amazing woman, person, and irreplaceable light in this world. She was always so good to me, supported me, made me feel loved, and always reached out to tell me she was thinking of me even when she was sick herself. She put her family, beliefs, and values at the center of everything she did and I admired her and adored her so much for that and everything she was. She was vocally supportive of me being gay, which deeply imprinted on my heart, especially in my first years coming out. She made me feel safe and welcome as she fought for equality and justice for all people. I love her so much and cannot believe God has taken away an angel so soon. I know I speak for my siblings and cousins when I say she will forever be an integral part of our family and our childhood and young Iives. Rest easy Aunt Eleanor. You will be in my heart always.

My deep condolences to Ira, Gabe, Rosa, and everyone else who knew and loved Eleanor. I first met Eleanor in 1974 at my first job after college. She was always a wonderfully supportive friend and a delight to be around. She was funny, giving, curious, passionate, loving, principled, honest, authentic, soulful, dedicated, loyal, empathic, out-spoken, and all-around fabulous, and she made every moment better. I will always be grateful for our time together.

Eleanor was sunshine, determination, kindness, humor, a keen mind and a really great friend. I could count on her in more ways than I could enumerate. She was simply the best and will always remain that way in my mind.

With love and thoughts to her memory and her very special family from Kathy, Marty & Zack
