Along with many grandnieces and nephews. The Ploumis and Triant/Kanellos Families were bedrocks in Eleni's life. People who met Eleni would always describe her as a caring, kind and compassionate woman. Eleni left Vasara and immigrated to Canada and shortly thereafter to the USA, in the late 1950s. Eleni married Kosta in 1959, an honorable man, who served his country in the U.S. Air Force. They started their family in 1961. As Eleni and Kosta raised their family, they were instrumental in sponsoring the immigration of many family members from Greece and Canada to the USA. Eleni worked many jobs in her career to help provide for her family. First, as a seamstress in different locations in Boston and in 1985, she began her 30-year career working at New England Coffee Company in Malden, MA. She retired in 2015 at 83 years young! With her newfound free time, Eleni was finally able to enjoy many of her lifelong hobbies which included cooking, baking, tending to her garden, spending time at the beach, taking walks and shopping in Malden Square (especially at Sparks), and cultivating her beautiful flowers. Eleni's rose bushes, hydrangeas and dahlias were admired and envied by all. Eleni spent many hours crocheting blankets for the people that were important to her, especially for the new babies that were joining both the immediate and extended family. Eleni's greatest passion and pleasure were her four amazing grandchildren who were the light of her life! When Eleni met new friends, she would say, "I have 4 grandchildren, 3 boys and a girl" and she would beam as she listed them one by one along with their individual accomplishments at the moment. Eleni was predeceased by her siblings Spiro and Georgia Stathakis. Eleni was loved by many and will be forever missed by all.
