My condolences to the family of Eleanor. She was just a great lady, I had lots of conversations with her while pampering her toes and hair. I loved hearing everything she had to say. She told me that she drove to Harvard once a month. I was in Awe' . Thats just amazing!! Time to rest now Eleanor and now you can educate all of the Angels in Heaven. They will be inspired by you for sure . Love Debra

I met Ellie when I became a facilitator for the School Improvement Program in the late 80s. In those memorable years Ellie led with vision and passion, inspiring all of us who worked for her, although the experience was much more with her. We stayed connected over the years, exchanging holiday cards and occasional phone calls. We loved talking politics and family! My last visit with Ellie was in 2019 before Covid. She was honest and brave about aging, she was warm and caring as a listener, and her eyes still twinkled, especially when she talked about each of her beloved family members. My life was enriched by knowing Ellie. I extend my deepest sympathy to her dear ones.

Your mother and I often crossed paths during my thirty plus years working at Derryfield. Always (and you know your mom) during my tenure as college counselor, your mom always asked "why aren't these kids going to better schools?" They were, but you mom's college filter was a narrow one! Loved her spirit and her caring. A great, great woman.

Ellie was not only a brilliant leader of school principals in New Hampshire, she was the kindest, most sincere person imaginable. Her concept of a NHASP Principals' Academy invited talented principals from across the state to participate in intellectual studies, camaraderie, and thoughtful study of the art of leadership. A friend to all, Ellie served as a beacon for principals who were reminded regularly that no matter what they were facing in their little towns, big cities, or tiny villages, she was steadfastly by their sides, cheering them all along the way. Here's to you Ellie, for all your contributions throughout your long and meaningful life. My most sincere condolences to her family.

Dorrie and Hal, Judy and I were saddened to read about Miss Ellie's passing. On every front, she was a true example of leadership and vision. I worked with Ellie when she was the Executive Director of NHASP, and for many years thereafter. Judy worked with her at the School Improvement Program for several years and we both enjoyed a continued relationship as she moved on to Harvard and other ventures. Ellie was an intelligent visionary, and always kept her focus on improving education for all students. She will surely be remembered by all of us who were impacted by her passion and wisdom.

I went out into the world when women barely worked as a Derryfield graduate, guided by the confidence that the school and their incredible founders provided. Ellie was beyond exceptional. What a life well lived.
