Tommy, Brian, and families. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. I think you know what the loss of your Mom means to me. She was one of my best friends and together we made a formidable golf team and in all the other escapades that we got up to as you all well know. Her love of dogs, nature, sports and roots held her in good stead.
I will truly miss calling and hearing her voice giving me sage advice which brings an ache to my heart, but the memories a much larger smile to my face, I will miss here sorely. What a truly remarkable lady! "Betty - to the 19th Hole."

My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad and difficult time. I know I haven't spoken with your mom in years, but I loved everything for which she stood. I was, oddly enough, shocked to hear that your mom- who had such a zest for life, such physical strength, the courage to speak the truth when few dared, the ability to resist material trappings and such huge personality- could actually have lost a battle.

She kicked my butt in golf lessons, despite being over 30 years my senior. Swing number one of lesson number one, she drove the ball over 150 yards while I was hitting dead air and blades of grass all day.

She was an amazing person and you will always have those wonderful memories to share as her legacy.

Betty had an enormous impact on my life. In addition to being a wonderful neighbor and friend, she was my mentor and confidant. Her core values and courage of conviction was rock solid.
Tommy, Brian and families, you were so good to your mother and she loved you and your families dearly. I hope that you will find comfort in the love and respect that we all had for Betty. She was the genuine article and we all knew it.

My deepest sympathies to the family. Betty will surely be missed by many. She was my mentor and helped me learn the game she so loved...golf! She was so patient and always full of encouragement. I had the honor of playing on her team at Indian Meadows and White's Corner Tournaments. Undoubtedly, Betty was the female version of "Tiger Woods". Well respected and admire by everyone she came in contact with. I will miss her dearly.

Hi Tom,
So sorry to hear of your mom passing on. We never knew her but the notice in the Hopkinton paper certainly showed her to be an unafraid and adventuring spirit - golf lessons at 60 - champion at 70 - Go Girl!

Deaths are always difficult but I think a little less so when the life was apparently so well lived. We're sure you have many great memories

Our deepest sympathies to you and your family.
